My Mamapedia Klutz Deal $13.50 for $30 and FREE SHIPPING CODE

What a deal for my little scientist! I went to mamapedia (Click Here) and entered the code SPRING10 to get 10% off the $15 for $30 Klutz Activity book national deal. This code is good through the end of the month.

When I redeemed my voucher at Klutz, I found a great LEGO Crazy Action Contraptions set and Foam Rockets. We will use these for some fun HOMESCHOOL science!

At the Klutz site, I used the code SHIP25, which gave me free shipping on a $25 order. So, my total at KLUTZ was only $4.90. (Plus the $13.50 at mampedia.) Any day is a good day for a deal to get LEGOS!

Free NeilMed Neti Pot Facebook Offer

3/25/11 the deal is over

Facebook users, go to NeilMed's Neti Pot Facebook page and LIKE them to receive a FREE Neti Pot (Click Here). Then you can either click on the Free Neti Pot link on the left of the page or the link in the post on their wall. This offer is only for individuals who "like" them for the first time.

They had a similar offer a while back and I got my Neti Pot in the mail in no time (I had to complete a survey and enter a mailing address, so I'm guessing the same process is in place.). I have a hard time taking allergy meds, so I tried this out of desperation one year (I wasn't too big on running a saline solution in one side of my nose and out the other). It really helped, but you've got to get used to using it.

I'm a homeschooling mom and just blogging about kiddos, homeschool, and baby or kiddo deals, but this is a good solution for kids too. They have a version for kids, but I just use the Neti Pot from the offer with half the amount of water and solution on my child. We went an entire year and the only doctor appointments were for the yearly physicals. (We homeschool, so there isn't as much exposure to germs too, but we do use the Neti Pot at the first sign of the sniffles.)

House Party by DIGIORNO

Have you heard of House Party? If not, check it out. I hosted a Zatarain's House Party (My Zatarain's House Party post) for Mardi Gras and had such a great time. I was really hoping to get picked again for the DIGIORNO Pizza & Hoops House Party, so I was bummed when I got that, well, let's call it a rejection e-mail. My spirits lifted soon after when a neighbor (one of the guests to my previous House Party) sent me an e-vite to her DIGIORNO House Party.

It was cool being the guest this time, and DIGIORNO really did a great job supplying the host with the party pack. We had plenty of pizza, breadsticks, and cookies. The wyngz were a hit too (we needed more).

The kiddos even played their own game of hoops--no upsets like the real basketball games here.  I left with some really cool Bam Bams--those are fun and $4.00 off a DIGIORNO pizza coupon--come on stores, I'm hanging on to it until I get a good special. Afterward, I headed to Food Lion for my $4.99 Pampers Deal.

My $4.99 Food Lion Pampers

It's been a good, fun Saturday. After attending a DIGIORNO House Party that a friend hosted, I stopped by Food Lion to try out my mobile Pampers deal. It worked.

The Pampers were $10.99, on sale for the Big Deal sale at  $9.99. I used a $2.00 off Pampers coupon from a P&G Home Mailer and the $3.00 off mobile offer that I blogged about yesterday (FL Mobile Offer Post). My final cost came to $4.99 for 31, size 3 Pampers Baby Dry diapers. To sweeten the deal, a coupon for $3.00 off a $15.00 baby purchase printed out at the register. Yeah!

I usually buy Luvs when I cannot find a deal, but I'm happy when I can get Pampers for a good price. I put them on the little fellow (who seems to want his diaper changed as soon as it is wet-- maybe he'll be easy to potty train) at night and it seems to do the trick. Any diaper suggestions? Any good quality store diapers out there? Please share.

Holiday Fun: Set a Leprechaun Trap

Fun Idea:  Leprechaun traps

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all! Are you decked out in green? Are you prepared to catch a leprechaun?

Here is a fun, free way to enjoy this Saint Patrick’s Day with your children: Create a leprechaun trap!

Sounds fun, right? Avoid hearing, “I’m bored.” Challenge your children to build a leprechaun trap. Arm the kids with the recycling bin, access to kitchen drawers (depending on their age), natural resources outdoors (this could be a green activity), or even craft supplies.  You may want to provide some rope or string if the trap will need to be set by pulling.

Then send your children outdoors. Let them be creative and come up with their own leprechaun bait. What would lure them in? Perhaps rainbows, shiny coins, special shiny rocks.

Then let them build the trap. This is a great idea for a group project or even a team event.

Then, set the trap in motion. If no leprechauns show up near your trap, use an item like a tennis ball and see if the leprechaun trap can hold it. Good luck! But I’ve heard that sometimes we never see them and only see the gold dust or glitter that they leave behind!

Post a comment with a link to a picture if your kiddos create a trap.

Do your kids need some inspiration? Check out these links:

Enjoy! And, Mom and Dad, here is one for the two of you. See who can make a word using the most letters from LEPRECHAUN. (BTW, you cannot use leprechaun). Let me know what you come up with.

My First House Party--Mardi Gras and Zatarain's

My Zatarain's House Party--Check it out and try it yourself.

Have you heard of House Party? It's a site where you can sign up to host parties where companies will send you "supplies" to party. I read about it on a savings blog and signed up.

Of course, there was a survey to complete, but, boy, were my efforts rewarded on the first try. I was chosen to host a Zatarain's Mardi Gras party.

We partied on March 8th, and enjoyed a good time with some great free food to boot.

What I enjoyed most was that for this party, I wasn't in a situation where I was trying to sell anything to my friends.

I invited a group of homeschool moms over, and while the kiddos created their own Mardi Gras masks, we listened to some Mardi Gras music on Zatarain's Pandora station,  sampled jambalaya, red bean dip--my favorite, red beans and rice, and our own semi-homemade root beer!

Here's a view of the Mardi Gras loot that arrived on my doorstep after I added the items with free coupons from the store.

We also got some great masks for the adults and beads. These were great when we had our own small-scale Mardi Gras parade at the end of the party.

The moms got a special treat to take home--coupons. I kept the bag though--you can never have enough bags to haul around baby gear!

Here's one last tidbit from the party--our own cream cheese cupcake "king cake". The kiddo with the sticker on the bottom of the cupcake got to be our Mardi Gras King or Queen and lead the parade.

Be sure to try out House Party, and follow me on Facebook and Twitter too--even here too. I've got my RSS feed set up too.

My $2.99 Pampers Shopping Trip at Food Lion

Yeah! I've got my $2.99 Pampers from Food Lion. As promised on Food Lion's Facebook site, I was indeed able to use the Food Lion coupon and P&G coupon (Click to Read Diaper Deal Post).

You cannot beat 31 diapers--Pampers at that--for less than 10 cents a piece!

Here's the receipt--you'll see the $3.00 off for my MVP card, $3.00 off the store coupon from Food Lion  Facebook, and my $2.00 P&G coupon. Ha! How funny to be excited about buying diapers.

Hurry, the three day sale at Food Lion started at 8:00 am on Friday. You can also go to Food Lion Baby Steps on Facebook, like them and scroll down to the first post for the $3.00 store coupon.

Please follow me on Twitter too--how sad to be there with no followers yet. I'll be adding more baby deals and sharing more about me soon. Search for Little Blogfish--you'll see the same image that's on the top of the blog.

Hope you're having a good day!

Diaper and Formula Deals at Food Lion

I couldn't miss the chance to share this FB Food Lion deal for store coupons off baby stuff like diapers and formula. Like Food Lion of Facebook and then follow the link to the baby coupon page to get $3.00 off Enfamil or Similac formulas or $3.00 off Pampers. These are store coupons, so if you combine them with a manufacturer's coupon, this means a very good deal!

Here's a good plan for this weekend for the 3-Day sale: combine it with the $2 coupon from Sunday's paper 2/27 and with the $7.99 sale, this coupon, and the P&G coupon, you'll spend only $2.99. Wow!

My Almost Free Baby Blanket

I love baby blankets. There's just something about wrapping up a baby in one of those really plush baby blankets and snuggling together. There's also a thing called staying awake at night with the baby. Tonight, turning on the computer too, turned out to be a great thing.

I checked out one of the blogs I read called Hip2Save, and the blogger shared a $15 off a $15 purchase code for Totsy--15CREDIT. I signed up, found this great blanket, used the code, and will get it shipped for $1.40. That's less than two bucks!

Here's the total, but even without the coupon this is a nice blanket for $8.45!
Total: $8.45
-$15.00
$0.00
$7.95

$1.40

You can even get credits for signing others up when they make a purchase. Here's my link to Totsy!

Take care.

3/4/2011 update
This message now appears at the top of the Totsy site:
"Last minute message: our last promotional campaign that was intended for a select audience of our long-time members was unintentionally exposed to the general public.
This promotion has now been restored and will only work for members who received an email directly from Totsy containing a promocode."

Baby Formula--Making it Affordable

So, I'm back. I'd thought I'd share some of my bargain shopping with you. I'm a Southern Savers reader, and this blog has great tips for how to save. For me, it's about getting the baby necessities at a good price, so I headed out to CVS to see what type of deals I could get on baby formula. I picked up the Sunday paper last Sunday (2/27) and requested the $110 coupon book from P&G a few weeks ago.

When we entered CVS, my son scanned my CVS card twice. And I got print out coupons... twice! One coupon was for $4 off a $20.

I was a bit bummed that most of the "free" items at CVS were gone, but I was able to still get a good deal. (I'm guessing there is a best time to go when these items are in stock).

I purchased the Crest mouthwash and Crest toothpaste for $3.29 each and used two $1.00 coupons--one from my $110 booklet and one from Sunday's paper. I paid $5.09 and got back $6.58 in bonus bucks.

Now to the formula. I bought Enfamil Infant on sale for 21.99 and Dawn on sale for .94. I used my $4.00 off coupon, .50 off Dawn, my $6.48 bonus bucks, and a $5.00 check off formula from Enfamil Family Beginnings. My final total for the transaction was $7.27. So, I spent $12.36 and got the baby formula I needed plus some toothpaste, mooth wash, and Dawn. Woo-Hoo!
